Private collection, New York.

Edelson a leading pioneer in feminist art, is remembered for her groundbreaking 1972 collage, Some Living American Women Artists, and 1977 Memorials to the 9,000,000 Women Burned as Witches in the Christian Era, performed at A.I.R Gallery in New York. Edelson was born in Indiana, and as a precocious young artist, began her formal art training at the age of 13 at the Art Institute of Chicago. She earned her BFA at DePauw University, (where her thesis exhibition was censored by the school), and her MFA from NYU. In 1972, Edelson helped organize the first National Conference for Women in the Visual Arts, and several other women's art collectives including the Heresies Collective. She remained politically and artistically throughout her long career. In 2019, she was presented with the National Lifetime Achievement Award by the Women's Caucus for Art.
